| George C. Legeros, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2
at the age of 76. He was born Feb. 12, 1925 in Minneapolis.
Graduated from West High School, attended the University of
Minnesota, Wharton School of Business, Harvard and the
University of Chicago, where he received his M.B.A. He served in
the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant j.g. Most will remember him as the
co-owner of the Rainbow Cafe, a family business for more than 60
years and a landmark at Lake & Hennepin in Minneapolis.
George also served on the board of the 5th
Northwestern National Bank. He was an active member of St.
Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, of the Mpls Institute of Arts, and
the Walker Arts Center. George loved God, the arts, classical
music, cooking and gardening. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Constance and son, David. He is survived by sons,
Christopher and Nicholas; a daughter, Doria and 4 grandchildren,
Elena, Anna, Alex and Maren.
A Trisagion Service (Wake) will be held 7 pm
Wednesday evening at St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church, 3450
Irving Ave S., Minneapolis. Visitation will begin at church, 5
pm Wednesday. Service 11 am Thursday at St. Mary's Greek
Orthodox Church. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. Remembrances may
be made to St. Mary's Church Building Fund. Washburn-McReavy
