Clayton Area EMS Asst. Chief Jason Thompson. Photos include the original hurst tool, the second placed
in service in North Carolina after Cary Rescue, and the first modular ambulance in the Triangle (1977).
The organized formed as Clayton Civil Defense in 1962, and underwent several name changes: Clayton Rescue and Civil Defense,
Clayton Rescue and EMS (1970s), Clayton Area Rescue (1990s), and Clayton Area EMS (2007).
