RALEIGH - Apartment fire at 4608 Brockton Drive. Working fire assignment dispatched
while units were en route. Engine 19 arrived at a one-story, wood-frame with brick exterior apartment building with four
units and 4,071 square-feet. Built 1982. Heavy fire found in the rear and through the roof of a rear apartment.
Crews entered structure with two lines. Engine 19 supplying hand lines, with boosted pressure from Engine 15.
Crews withdrawn after about fifteen minutes, for a short period of
aerial operations with Ladder 2. Some structural collapse in the rear of the structure. Dispatched 6:50 a.m.
Controlled 7:31 a.m. Cause determined as arson. Two apartments uninhabitable. No injuries. Units on scene
included E19, E15, E11, E9, E27, L2, L5, R1, B1, B2?, C10, C20, C40, EMS 5, EMS 3, D4. "C' platoon,
with companies changing to "A" platoon.
