CMPD Bomb Squad’s truck… fully equipped with a Roto-Ray and Federal Q. (can police really appreciate a Roto-Ray and Federal Q?? ...... kidding)

The two MEDIC buses have come in good use lately. The two pictures on display in front of the bus are from the overturned school bus accident on I-77. On a side note, one of MEDIC’s buses were on scene of the overturned tanker truck in Cabarrus County yesterday. It served as the rehab area for the extended operations.

Hey Luke,
Any idea when CMPD got that Hackney EOD truck? Hey if MEDIC can put a Q on the Alert truck why not CMPD? Noticed that MEDIC has been using the buses a lot lately do they keep at dedicated crew at MEDIC HQ?

CMPD got that truck around the beginning of the year. It was initially housed at a fire station when they got it, but has since been moved (as I understand it).

As for the MEDIC buses, I’m willing to wager that there is always someone at/near HQ that is capable of driving one of the buses. I thought I’d heard that one was also stationed down at Mint Hill FD, but don’t quote me on that… I’m not sure where they keep all their stuff! I wouldn’t say they have a ‘dedicated crew’ for the buses each day, since they aren’t in use everyday, but I don’t think they’d have a problem getting one en route to a call.

The joke about the Q on CMPD’s truck is because the cops around here like to give the FD a hard time for “making all that noise going to calls.” At least, that’s what the officers I talk to say..!
