Reader Jon Olson photographed this familiar vehicle on New Bern Avenue. No mystery apparatus this time. That's Yrac's old Brush 299, later Western Wake's brush truck, a 1970 Chevy C20 originally equipped with a Darley pump. Click to enlarge:

That truck was so much fun to drive. If I had the money I would have picked it up… I know some of the guys put in a lot of wrench time, wish we could have kept her.

I have seen it around, a lot around F-V and Holly Rock. I think I know where it lives now. I have been watching it. IF he puts it up for sale I know where it is going.

Reduced to a lawn mower hauler…. not even a trailer. Edelbrock right? I bet it gets put to good use pulling the lawn mower. Anybody remember what it sold for?
