01/18/10 92 W, 2 I - + 10 - 11 Wilson Station 2, 1956

Here's Wilson Fire Station 2 as appeared in the November 1956 issue of Hose & Nozzle. Built in 1952 and located at 300 Fairview Avenue, it first housed a pair of 1920s American LaFrance triple combinations. The station was relocated to 1807 Forest Hills Road in 1989, and subsequently served as a Wilson County EMS station. The building was being used as a community resource center when photographed a few years ago. Learn more about Wilson (and Rocky Mount) fire stations.
