10/09/10 70 W, 1 I - + 5 - 4 Fireman's Day Parade

That's Norlina's vintage Brockway pumper in the foreground in this (attempted) deep focus photo from this afternoon's Fireman's Day parade through downtown Creedmoor. Yours Truly was only struck a couple times by pieces of flying candy, include one which ricocheted off my Canon Digital Rebel XT camera body and struck a woman watching on the east side of Main Street. More photos later. Click to enlarge:

That’s solid picture. Good job.

Nice angle Mike!!! BTW for the apparatus buffs, the Brockway from Norlina formerly served Bowie FD in Prince Georges County,MD.

John Franks took some good shots of the Brockway truck at the Warren County Firemen’s Day last month, http://www.flickr.com/photos/jwmfranks/s..

Would love to hear this truck pumping because it sounds so good going down the road. Reminds me of the sound of the orginal Big Bertha tanker that Rolesville had. I think it had a 427 with dual stacks. Loved to hear Dad and Jimmy Gay make those stacks talk.
