11/24/10 84 W, 1 I - + 4 - 3 New Ambulance For Apex
As noted in our prior thread, Apex Fire & EMS has placed in service this ambulance, a former Six Forks EMS patient module mounted on a 2010 Chevrolet G4500 chassis. Under the hood is a Dura Max diesel. The module was painted, and equipped with LED lights inside and out. Since the time of this picture, a door seal's been added. The truck is currently in service as EMS 41. Dale Johnson supplied this photo:

Six Forks EMS has taken delivery of 2 New ChevroletMcCoy Millers and 1 Chevrolet remount in the past year or so. They also have a truck being remounted on to a Chevrolet chassis right now. The old chassis was totaled about a month ago in a accident.

@ PJ- Yep, I think it was. Big difference. We are also looking at remounting our current ‘#2’ which is currently a spare.

Wow, I’ve been out of the loop. I did see a new truck at 123 the other day. I’m guessing that was a remount from somewhere because it was nothing like the setup for #8 and #9. I didn’t see #1 at any of the stations, I’m guessing that’s the one that got wrecked out.

@PJ- #5 got wrecked. The one at #123 is a remount. It was purchased already remounted, i.e. the box did not come from a SFEMS unit. It is a National box on a Chevy G4500.
