05/22/11 71 W, 1 I - + 5 - 5 All-Terrain Vehicles?

Does every department have an ATV these days? Lee Wilson yesterday photographed the Holly Springs Fire Department's ATV at a Relay For Life event at Womble Park. WakeMed Air Mobile 1 also made an appearance. Send your ATV photos, and we'll compile and post on the blog. (Or send a link, if there's already a photo online of your ATV.) See Lee's photos from Holly Springs.

Nope Just Department’s that have a lot of Money

I disagree, I know many departments that have these and do not have a lot of money. I would argue that the departments who have them have a need for it. I think if there is a true need for such a vehicle, it can be easily obtained in most any budget. I would also say that there are those that get many of such equipment for show or just to have it, but those are in the minority I would think.

this Holly Springs one was a former Holly Springs town ATV.

WWFR Car 19. 2008(?) Kawasaki Mule 4×4 with winch. Purchased with grant money, including its enclosed trailer. Modified/equipped to carry a Stokes basket and backboard and to be able to extract patients while the medical staff works on them. Can be configured on-the-fly to suit the needs of the call. Now all we need is a slide-in pump and tank unit…

I’ll send you some pictures tonight.
