The parking lot next to the old county home. Up the metal stairs on the exterior was the old home of EMS 2 until the current station was built. Tricky navigation down those stairs in the winter!

Wake EMS folks…I saw one of the old Garner trucks today, with a “simulation ambulance vehicle” sign on the side. What are these trucks used for?

It is a mobile training simulator. It has a sim man dummy in the back that mimics a patient and you are presented with a scenario. The sim man is controlled by a bunch of fancy electronics in the front of the ambulance and you are recorded and evaluated. It is a good way to get as close to a real world training scenario as possible by putting you in the back of a real truck. Everyone does it every other month.
