Introduction

This document contains informal research about the Walnut Terrace housing projects in Raleigh, North Carolina. It includes a historical perspective of the prior neighborhood, the fire department’s response to the burning of the demolished homes, the story of the subsequent housing project, and histories of nearby structures. The author is Mike Legeros, who was greatly aided with photographs and materials from the Raleigh Housing Authority.
