This vintage photo was shown and shared with visitors to yesterday's live burn at the Buffaloe House. The photograph of the framed picture has been converted to greyscle, with heavy contrast adjustments, and corrected for the distortion of viewing at an angle. The house was built in sections, correct? With rear additions in later decades? Click to enlarge the top photo:

I talked with her when she arrived yesterday and she actually mentioned the house in the pic was was built mid to late 1800’s (unsure of exactly when) ...the collapsed building about a 100 yards from the back right corner was a slave quarters…and multiple additions were done thru out the years…

Wonder how easily we could retrieve the deed(s) for that property, to determine original building or ownership dates? The county Register of Deeds has an application on their web site, but how far back are digital records?
