03/09/08 36 W, 1 I - + 10 - 7 Pierce in Snow

From a reader, here's Raleigh's new pumper before it left the factory in Wisconsin. 2008 Pierce Enforcer with a 1,500 GPM pump, a 500 gallon water tank, and 20 gallon foam cell. Future Engine 9. Click to enlarge:

Any word on where the current E-9 is going?

According to an article placed on here by Lee, showing the truck right after it arrived in Raleigh.
It stated that this was to replace Engine 9, Current 9 to 21, current 21 to reserve.
And the possibility of the reserve Mack going on the auction block

Well, E-20 is currently riding E-221, which I think is the old E-21 (Pierce w/ the bigger motor). If that’s true, what is 21 currently riding on?
Silver - 03/11/08 - 13:03

I thought that E-221 was the old E-16?????

221 is old 21. 21 is on a Quality. Not sure which one though.

Would be nice for 20 to be swapped out…the current 20 saw some hard driving when it was at 2, we shall see though…

Engine 21 will be running on old engine 9 a 2002 quality, where will the 1995 pierce that 21 was running on go to, maybe reserve 222? The 1997 pierce that was engine 16 went to reserve 221.

Where did old E-8 and E-2 go? I thought one of them went to 21.
guest 2 - 03/12/08 - 17:08

old engine 8 a 1999 quality went to engine 27, old engine 2 went to engine 19 hope that helps. all information is pulled from legeros site.
Adam - 03/12/08 - 17:27

engine 2 was a 2000 quality
Adam - 03/12/08 - 17:27

Currently, 21 is riding a Pierce Saber (old 16?). They WILL get the Quality that is currently Engine 9 when 9 gets the sweet, new Pierce.
Silver - 03/12/08 - 19:05

Hey Silver. If I remember correctly, Eng 21 got old Engine 15
Jon C - 03/12/08 - 19:09

In 1995/96 the 2 newest engines to RFD were the Pierce Dash with the 60 series Detroit motors. They would FLY, Engine 11 and 15 got their new rigs after we loaded the hose on them in the 96 academy! Engine 11 was replaced with one of the Quality engines, and the dash went to 21. While engine 15 rode on the dash until it was replaced in 06 with the new Pierce. E-11 since 96 has been a Pierce, Quality and back to a Pierce. E-15 has only had the 95 Pierce and the 06 Pierce.28 is riding on old 15’s Pierce Dash.

Thanks for the run down “J”. By the way, for those that missed out, the District Pipes and Drums were PHENOMENAL yesterday!!!! They definitely stole the crowd. Great job, looking forward to next year (Savannah?)!!
