Lee Wilson has posted photos of yesterday's wet-down ceremony at Wake Forest Fire Station 1, celebrating their new ladder truck, a 2011 Pierce Arrow XT rear-mounted platform. The truck was delivered on February 2 and will be placed in service on March 7. Rear prior posting about the apparatus and reader discussion therein.

Congrats on the new rig WF, good luck with it and may God bless it in service. Love the wet-down! Who is the Yankee that made that happen?

That’s been happening in the county for a while now Jeff. Figured we’d bring a little tradition back to the service.

Yeah, I remember seeing a few dedications around the county in recent years. Glad to see it, and was really surprised to see an actual “wet-down”.

Those that have never been to a Northern wet-down would love it; neighboring departments come, games and rides for the kids, beer truck/tent for the adults, food….just a big ol’ party and celebration dedicating the new ride. Then the big water fight….good times.
