Notes:

Just FYI, there’s a discrepancy between your station listing and the map — the map shows old Parkwood Station 1 as 81 and Parkwood 3 as 83, but the list shows the reverse

Thank you, Egg. Maps updated with correct numbering.

Regarding station 82, any idea why the Sutphen would be an engine (E82) and not a ladder?

Second question, I’ve never understood why Miami Blvd has a DFD station 2 miles down the road from the(now) DCFR station 82? Seems kinda weird.
Paul - 04/15/15 - 09:33

Bethesda’s smaller Sutphen ladder has always functioned as an engine company, if memory serves.

Are all five Durham County stations staffed 24/7?
FF8 - 04/15/15 - 10:28

Re: Staffing. All 5 Stations staffed 24/7.

Anyone know why station 85 is running such old rigs?
FF8 - 04/22/15 - 14:01

2 items – Station 85 is staffed by one person and is there for ISO purposes and my guess is primarily the tanker. It’s a small station and won’t hold the typical current configuration custom pumper. As for Durham FD #13 on S. Miami. It is there to cover areas on S. Miami and that side of the RTP south to county line and Morrisville. Not really any different than the mix of RFD and county stations in Wake Co.
