As seen after this morning's apparaus parade on Fayetteville Street. What's the model year for this Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance? What a beauty. Click to enlarge:

1965 or 1966. Minor differences between those years in trim. 1964 had side by side quad headlights. 1967 had over and under, but they were mounted at an angle.

Back in the early 70s, there was a 1/24 scale model kit of an ambulance just like this one. It could be built with Detroit Fire Department livery or a private ambulance company livery. The biggest difference was that the moel kit did not have a Federal beacon on it, it was built with four Grimes lights on the roof. Grimes lights are similar to aircraft marker lights.

I keep threatening my wife that I am going to buy one of these, although the one I want is a 1969 Superior Cadillac. Maybe one day.

I think Wakr County is in desparate need of a vintage hearse being driven around by someone in a hot pink Hawaiian shirt. And I know just the guy to pilot the thing…

Sure. You could lower it, with 20” spinner wheels, neon/LED lighting….flames on the sides…

Make sure to leave room in the back for the proton packs…
