Confirmed closed fire departments in New Hanover County, as well as those in prior years and decades are:

I’m intrigued by South Wilmington FD becoming North Wilmington FD. Did the common view of what was “North Wilmington” vs “South Wilmington” change? Did they physically move?

Disregard! I started Googling, to answer my own question, and I came across this post on some obscure fire-related blogging web site: http://legeros.com/ralwake/photos/weblog..

These fire departments did cease operations when New Hanover County FD became the sole provider. NHCFD contracted with each of these agencies to remain in their buildings and use/purchase their equipment. I believe that all three of these departments still exist as incorporated bodies, but none of them still provide fire services.

Thanks LJ. Federal Point is already on record as dissolved. This clarifies the status of the other three.
