12/15/12 108 W, 2 I - + 4 - 8 New Rescues for Thanksgiving and Buis Creek

Just in time for Christmas is this picture of Thankgiving's new (used) rescue. They're in Johnston County. It's a 1997 Pierce Quantum that originally served as Richmond's Rescue 1. Delivered September 13. Get this, the thing has a 500 GPM pump (!) in addition to a cascade system. (So it's a rescue engine?!) See more photos.

Also new in the area is Rescue 881 at Buis Creek Fire Department in Harnett County. Delivered on December 11, it's a 2012 Rosenbauer Spartan-Force. Says photographer Lee Wilson, it's the first Rosenbauer rescue in our area. But we've had a couple engines delivered, no? See more photos.

Mike, not in your immediate area but Cumberland county has some Rosenbauer apparatus, my station GCVFD 24 was the first in the county to buy a Rosenbauer back in 2007 when CW Williams became the local dealer. Also Stedman VFD received a Rosenbauer Pumper/Tanker in 2009 I believe as well as 2 Rosenbauer units at GCVFD 18, one a 2008 F-550 mini pumper and a newly delivered 2012 Rosenbauer Pumper/Tanker. Here are links to a couple of the Gray’s Creek units them in respective order

Rocky Mount has several Rosenbauer’s including the new Ladder 10, Battleboro has received one also, not sure of the year but its Engine 91. Also, Littleton Fire Department bought an 09 GMC/Rosenbauer Mini-Pumper.

Buies Creek said they had to go to Va to see the closest Rosenbauer rescue. So maybe the 1st rescue in the state. ?? (check the spelling on Buies x2 Mike)

Cleveland, Smithfield, and Princetons rescue trucks have a pump and water on them also.

Buies Creek’s is the first Rescue truck body built in this region of the state. There are engines and rescue engines but this is the first Rescue Squad. And yes the committee had to travel to Spotsylvania county to view the closest rescue. http://www.cwwilliamsfire.com/?p=1366

PGTruckie was correct. We had to travel to Spotsylvania County Frie Station 4 to see the closest Custom Cab rescue. The closest rescue was Maxton Fire Department at the time we ordered the truck, with is in Robeson County, but this was a F-750 cab. http://www.cwwilliamsfire.com/?p=2160 As you can see it is a nice truck, but just not what we where looking at. So Buies Creek has the only Custom Cab Rosenbauer truck, but not the first Rescue. This is the first Rosenbauer for Harnett County and Benhaven Emergency Services has ordered a custom pumper with the new Commander Cab. I believe that this is Benhaven’s first custom cab truck, and it will be a Rescue-Pumper.
